Superhero Movie Monday: Fant4Stic

So. Last years Fantastic Four reboot. Worth the wait? Worth the money? Worth your time? Short answer No, No and No.

Fantastic Four is the story of Marvels First Family. It’s directed by Josh Trank (Ish, there’s plenty of buzz and rumour as to what went on between the director and the studio, all of it, not good) and stars Miles Teller as Reed Richards, Michael B Jordan as Johnny Storm, Kate Mara as Sue Storm and Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm (The Thing).

Onto my main points. They’re all bad. Its production is sloppy. Its acting is piss-poor even though it has some great up-and-coming actors (Kate Mara and Michael B Jordan). It’s plot line is even worse. The fact that they just get their powers then it skips to a year later and somehow they now know exactly how to manage them? Nah. I’m not having that.

Fox completely butchered one of the most promising Comic Properties out there. They didn’t make the relationships between the characters as good as they should have. They might as well have been all cardboard cut outs the amount of chemistry they had with each other.

On top of all of this. They turned Doctor Doom into a crash test dummy. Don’t believe me? Go and have a look, go on, type into google ‘Doctor Doom Fant4Stic’ and you’ll see what I mean.

The only good part of the movie? Doctor Doom blowing up peoples heads with his mind. Give me more of that and we might have a decent movie on our hands. But nope. You ruined it Fox. Ruined.

I’m keeping this short because, quite honestly, I don’t want to talk about this film. It’s one I’m never going to watch again and one I’m quite glad will never get a sequel, at least not from Fox. I simply beg of Fox to take a leaf out of Sony’s book and try to work with Marvel Studios to produce, what should be, a brilliant Fantastic Four film and bring them into the world of The Avengers.

Fant4Stic (Fantastic Four): 0.5/5 – One of the worst films in existence.
